A Texas interpretation of an English country house uses exquisite craftsmanship and well-edited materials to create a comfortable and refined home.
To achieve the weathered, grey-hued effect typical of English stone construction, the team selected black Leuders limestone from the quarry in West Texas.
The stone is complemented by Vermont Slate roof tiles, which provide deep color variation and rich texture on the roof and dormers. Together, the two materials set the tone for elegant, refined interiors, where stone, wood and glass complete the palette.
Reclaimed, rift-sawn white oak flooring and hand-carved details reflect a high quality of craftsmanship that warm the spaces. Floor-to-ceiling wood-framed Hope windows in the living room connect to the dense scrub landscape outside, creating a sense of openness without sacrificing privacy.
